Rest assured, all interns will be compensated for transportation or related expenses and will receive a fixed daily fee for their dedicated efforts.       Our internships are only available to students in their final year of a Master’s program who are looking for a final mandatory/voluntary internship. Thank you for taking this into consideration!

      As an intern with The Lighthouse (Data & AI) team, you will support one of our core services, which include:

      • AI Strategy & Transformation: Creating a vision and strategy, developing and implementing a transformation roadmap around data and AI.
      • Data Management and Digital Governance: Building trust in data by establishing governance, processes, and technologies for data management.
      • Business Intelligence and Analytics: Enabling businesses and people by delivering actionable data and insights to support decision-making.
      • Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning: Leveraging advanced analytics by understanding the strengths and limitations of these techniques to maximize returns from analytics and AI initiatives.
      • Intelligent Automation and New Tech: Creating strategy and operating models for sustainable human/robot co-existence through radical innovation and leveraging new technologies.
      • Digital Solution Architecture Development: Providing technical support to drive digital transformation and next-generation architectures.

      Depending on your background and interest we can define your focus areas and responsibilities together. In your role you will typically support some of the following activities:

      • Performing research: conduct in-depth research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive analysis. Present your findings to the team, providing valuable insights to inform strategic decisions and business development.
      • Conduct experiments / proof-of-concepts: Design and implement innovative experiments to test new ideas, algorithms, and solutions. Analyze results and provide actionable recommendations for improvements and next steps.
      • Collaborating with teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business analysts. Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
      • Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of project work, methodologies, and findings. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate results to stakeholders.
      • Creating marketing material: Develop and design engaging marketing content to promote The Lighthouse's services. This includes writing articles, creating compelling presentations, and designing eye-catching infographics that showcase our capabilities and achievements.

       

      Skills & Qualifications

      You are a Master student in computer siences, industrial engineering, (applied) informatics, business and information systems engineering or any data / tech related study or equivalent (major/minor).

      While academic qualifications are important, there are several other main competences we highly value, including:

      • A broad interest in IT and business processes
      • Enthusiasm about working in a project based environment
      • Strong client orientation and being a real team player
      • A natural ambition and high motivation
      • Fluent in Dutch or French and English

      Roles & Responsibilities

      The fundamental role of an auditor is to report to the shareholders as to whether the company's annual accounts show a true and fair view of the company's financial activity. As well as to ensure that the accounts are presented in conformity with the prevailing legal and regulatory requirements.

      An auditor at KPMG, you will be doing much more than just looking at the company's financial records. You'll be finding out as much as you can about the whole company, the way it works, its products or services, its technology, its competitors and the industry in which it operates.

      As an audit-trainee you'll be working within an audit team, where you'll assist in the audit of the annual account of several clients. This includes amongst other things:

      • Updating the audit plan and the risk-analysis
      • Following-up the confirmation procedure
      • Verifying different sections of the cash balances and financial statements by using audit tools
      • Monitoring the administrative organization and the internal controls
      • As an audit-trainee you'll be working both at the client and at the office.
      • An internship in our Audit department gives you the opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge to use.

      Skills & Qualifications

      • You will soon hold a Master degree in Management, Commercial or Business Engineering, Commercial Sciences or (Applied) Economic Sciences.
      • A background in Accountancy is an asset.
      • We’re looking for students with excellent proficiency in Dutch, and a good command of English.
      • While we believe academic qualifications are an important pointer as to how you might succeed at our firm, these are far from being the only thing you'll be assessed on.

      Roles & Responsibilities

      Our digital assurance team assists clients in effectively dealing with a range of issues, from diagnostic reviews to reporting, and enable them to showcase their excellence.

      As an intern at KPMG in Digital Risk Management - DA, you’ll be involved and gain experience in SOC1 report for our largest attestation client. As an intern, you will:

      • Participate in Mandatory Trainings.
      • Understand the fundamentals of SOC1 reporting, including its necessity and specific components. Collaborate with fellow interns to learn and share your insights with our Core Team; and get the opportunity to promote your visibility within the DRM team!
      • Dive into the practical aspects of SOC1 reporting. Learn about our sampling strategy, testing methods, key documentation practices, and the internal tools we use.
      • Learn how the testing procedures you perform contribute to the final SOC1 report shared with our client.
      • You will be guided by someone who was intern with us last year as well and onboarded as 'team member'.

      Skills & Qualifications

      You are a student in business engineering, economic sciences, information management, informatics, (business) IT or an IT/ tech related study or equivalent (major/minor).

      While academic qualifications are important, there are several other main competences we highly value, including:

      Role & Responsibilities

      As an intern, here are some of your responsibilities:

      • Identifying, researching, and helping to resolve sustainability reporting and assurance issues, including those related to ESG disclosures and regulatory compliance.
      • Reviewing complex data sets and developing clear, structured working papers that support audit conclusions and recommendations. 
      • Performing audit procedures to test the accuracy and completeness of sustainability data reported under CSRD, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) KPIs. 
      • Analyzing year-over-year changes in key figures and KPIs, comparing current disclosures with prior-year reports to identify trends, inconsistencies, or areas requiring clarification. 
      • Conducting in-depth reviews of corporate sustainability reports, assessing alignment with applicable frameworks and regulations such as NFRD, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and ISSB standards. 
      • Regularly updating senior team members on the progress of your work and contributing to team discussions and planning. 
      • Building strong relationships with client staff, acting as a trusted point of contact and ambassador for the Sustainability Audit team and KPMG Belgium. 

      Where? There would be the possibility to work from one of the following KPMG Belgium’s locations:

      • Zaventem 
      • Antwerp  

      Skills and Qualifications

      • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Engineering, Engineering, Environmental science, Sustainability and you are currently pursuing a Master's degree in a similar field.
      • You have an inquisitive mind with a strong passion for sustainability reporting and environmental and societal issues. 
      • You have an interest in existing and new reporting frameworks (GRI, Value Reporting Foundation, ISSB) and current and upcoming legislative frameworks (NFRD, CSRD, EU Taxonomy).
      • You’re fluent in Dutch and/or French and English.

      Skills & Qualifications

      We welcome applications from students from a broad range of academic disciplines. There is no preferred field of study. Applicants should highlight in their application how their academic background, experiences and interests relate to consulting for European institutions.

      Your studies should have advanced from the initial semesters and ideally you can demonstrate prior work experience in Consultancy or European institutions.

      International students

      Upon embarking on your journey with KPMG as a graduate, native level proficiency in either Dutch or French is essential, along with a solid understanding of the other language. Furthermore, candidates must either be Belgian residents or possess a valid work permit. It's important to note that KPMG cannot facilitate obtaining a work permit for graduates, except in the case of joining Actuarial Services.
