Lauren is National Private Enterprise Leader for Advisory and specializes in supporting private enterprise clients, entrepreneurs and business owners through significant transactions and periods of transition. She has more than 15 years of professional services and corporate development experience across Canada and the UK, with extensive experience advising on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.
Lauren is focused on bringing the breadth of KPMG’s Advisory capabilities to privately held businesses and their owners. She works closely with entrepreneurs and management teams as they prepare for a potential transaction, helping them identify and address issues ahead of a sale, strengthen their readiness for buyer scrutiny and position the business to maximize value on exit.
Lauren specializes in pre-exit readiness and vendor due diligence, supporting clients from the early stages of transaction preparation through execution. She helps sellers anticipate and prepare for buyer due diligence, manage financial due diligence Q&A, and navigate the financial aspects of representations and warranties insurance (RWI). Her approach is designed to help owners maintain control of the transaction process, reduce execution risk and protect value through to closing.
Prior to her current role, Lauren spent eight years with KPMG’s M&A practice in London, advising strategic and private equity clients on buy-side and sell-side transactions, including some of the world’s largest private equity firms. She also spent five years in corporate development roles with two public companies, giving her first-hand experience evaluating and executing transactions from a corporate perspective.
Drawing on this combination of advisory and in-house experience, Lauren brings a practical, hands-on and commercial approach to transactions. She works alongside business owners, management teams and their legal advisors throughout the deal lifecycle, including advising on sale and purchase agreements, purchase price mechanisms and other financial matters that can have a significant impact on transaction value.
