Terry is a Partner in Accounting Advisory Services at KPMG Canada. A CPA in both Canada and the U.S., he brings more than 20 years of experience in audit, corporate reporting, and accounting advisory. He advises clients on complex reporting issues and significant transactions, combining strong technical expertise and project management skills to simplify accounting and reporting challenges throughout each project.
Terry’s effective problem-solving abilities apply across IFRS and U.S. GAAP, and across a broad range of accounting issues such as revenue recognition, business combinations, financial instruments, impairment, leases, and presentation and disclosure of financial statements. Terry currently is KPMG’s lead advisor on IFRS 18 implementation.
Terry is a key resource for clients navigating accounting challenges and change across industries including mining, real estate, renewable energy, retail and consumer foods, manufacturing, asset management, and media and telecommunications. He recently led Accounting Advisory Services for the mining industry.
Terry is skilled in helping clients with accounting and financial reporting changes under U.S. GAAP and IFRS, including GAAP conversions and IPO readiness projects. Terry has also led numerous pre- and post-deal reporting projects where he has assisted clients in resolving accounting and regulatory matters, including acquisitions, RTOs, SPAC transactions, business restructuring, carve-out and IPO spin-offs.
By leveraging advanced digital tools and technology, Terry has strong capabilities in assisting clients with accounting-related data analytics, system upgrades and implementations.
