Michael is a Partner in the Sustainability Assurance Practice in Toronto. Michael serves as the lead engagement partner for several leading Canadian companies in providing limited assurance over emissions, climate, environmental and social metrics. He also leads engagements with sustainability reporting obligations in both domestic and foreign jurisdictions. The focus of these engagements includes regulatory requirement identification, disclosure assessment, and the development of reporting operating models.
Michael has significant experience in managing complex assurance engagements for telecommunications, software, technology, and publishing clients for over 20 years. Additionally, he is a member of KPMG Canada’s national sustainability topic team and participates in several internal working groups and task forces that share leading practices on the implementation of sustainability standards and regulatory changes.
Michael has extensive experience across various disciplines, including complex and emerging technical accounting and reporting advice, sustainability reporting, and regulatory standard implementation projects. He is recognized for his ability to articulate solutions to complex accounting issues in a simple and accessible manner. In addition, Michael advises clients on implementing finance function improvements, including financial reporting modernization, reporting process enhancement and strategy, and risk and control frameworks.
