Since joining KPMG Switzerland as a Partner in 2005, Stefan Pfister has played a key role in shaping the firm's development through a range of leadership roles. After heading the Real Estate, Transactions & Restructuring, and Advisory practices, he served as CEO of KPMG Switzerland from 2014 to 2026.
Following the merger of KPMG Switzerland and KPMG UK in 2024, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of KPMG Holding LLP and also served as Deputy Group CEO until 2026. In addition, he was a member of the Global Board and served as Global Independent Lead Partner and Chair of the Governance Committee.
As a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of Expertsuisse, the Swiss umbrella organization for the auditing, taxes and fiduciary sector, Stefan Pfister advocates for the interests of the industry. He has also served as a long-standing member of the Executive Board of Economiesuisse, the national umbrella organization of the Swiss economy.
